Where in the World is Anna?

Where in the World is Anna Addison and what has she been up to lately?

Hello to all my dear friends near and far! Most of you know that I relocated to Amsterdam, but you may not know what I’ve been doing for the past four years. First, I sold my car and traded for a bike, a boat and few vacations. So, I’m living a mindful, happy, healthy lifestyle, biking, boating, giving special city tours to friends, traveling….and, I’ve started my own design studio and have been working like MAD starting from scratch in a new country. Here’s the backstory:

Amsterdam Canal

Five years ago I dreamt of living and working in Europe, to get a little closer to the Mother Land and to my peeps on the other side of the world. So, in the middle of the recession, I got my portfolio together and moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. (Thanks to SxSW for the push!) There, I started a new life in a new world working for a Spirits packaging company telling visual brand stories and designing new products for global markets. The job was good; the commute was not. So, I decided to file for business residency and go out on my own.

In 2013, I started a design company called MAD CONSORT, which reflects how I live, work, collaborate and create. Here, I dive wholeheartedly and passionately into to every project with a desire to learn, dig, create and tell stories that connect brands to consumers, and I do it with a collection of badass friends that help me turn the work from good to great.  MAD CONSORT is a  branding, design and packaging studio working in Amsterdam but creating for companies big and small all over the world. And earlier this year, I moved to my own personal studio space. Praise the Lord and Raise the Roof!

Today, I’m excited to share with you the latest work I’ve created, alongside my most trusted colleague and friend, Kendra Rainey. (She’s an amazing writer and strategist I’ve had the pleasure of working with for the past 10 years, and whom I met through the most fabulous of alma maters, The Portfolio Center.)

“Congrats,” you say! How can I help?  Easy. You can visit our MAD website, share with your friends, and sign up for our MAD Shorties newsletter, where I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes look at the studio, personal projects and info about things I’m working on and loving.

Thanks in advance for being a rockstar and a great friend.
